My Compaq Presario 2100 will not shutdown, restart, suspend, or hibernate correctly. When I attempt a shutdown or restart, it hangs with a message to the effect of Shutting Down Now, but it never powers off.
I would like to be able to log these messages and present them on this web site for help, but I know of no way to log shutdown messages. I just see them on the screen, but I have no way to record them (unless I would manually copy them to paper, and retype them into the computer).
Is there some method to log shutdown messages, and if so, what is it?
