Hi, can I boot Linux directly in Win7 by using a USB Stick (similar to using virtualbox - which doesnt run properly) without having to restart the computer?

I donīt think it is possible, because to run from usb stick you have to select usb from BIOS.Maybe some one else knows better.

Welcome to the forums.

Nope, not to my knowledge. As above; you need to boot from the USB.

try using linux live usb programme to create the usb and when creating it add the virtualisation option. you can then run "virtualise this key" to run it in portable virtual box.

Holy crap, that's awesome. I've been using Linux Live USB for a while and didn't know you could do that.
