I'm from India too and also speak hindi well (though its not my first language). PM me if you have any problems.
Anyways..
This is the general Ubuntu-related help section and not a community get together area.

Welcome to the forums.

As for me, I am an 8th Indian, but only found out ten years ago, but that made sense, and have no idea of the language and very little of the culture (except the music, but isn't that culture anyway?). Intend to learn more before I am too old and it is too late. Hoping to be on the sub-continent within the next few years. All I know is that I'm addicted to cricket! The Sri Lankans lost the tests here just today with a 3/0 overhaul by the Australians but we have Merza here and a few others for the Australian Open tennis which starts in a week.

Obviously I am a sports nut! ;)

All the best, Ammy93 ...

PS: If you are looking for help in your language or to get together with other Indians to talk Linux or Ubuntu, you might try one of the LOCOs in your area. ;)

All obvious to you, vasa, but unless you are from the sub-continent and speak the language (and that's one of many I suspect), who's to know??????????????

We are an international forum and these kind of misunderstandings are inevitable ...

And heading back on topic, though ...

Didn't you see the "Me from India" part? And yes, there's a slow-burning question about national languages, officially recognized languages, etc. Even I'm not sure how many there are.

I suspect the best way to remove ambiguity would be to amend the title of the thread to something like "Who is from India?" but that could bring up a few issues which we shouldn't go into ...

Cricket is a sport that originated in the UK, though I must, out of national pride, say that Indians play it much better.

From southern Indian state 'Karnataka'. Hindi should be known to all Indians as it is the national language. Maaf kijiye! Hindi toh hamara rastriy basha hai.
