To me, Ask Ubuntu is all business and focuses on the question at hand. This forum also gets results, but is friendlier with a tolerance to open chat.

Are you kidding???
I've been here less than a week and I've had 3 treads closed already just for asking a simple question about a technical issue I was dealing with.

1. To be fair, AskUbuntu also closes any questions that are off topic, a duplicate, not a "good" question, etc. threads that in general does not fit into the guidelines (I'm not hating AskUbuntu here, I agree with their rules)

2. I can't see any of your closed threads (or maybe they're deleted?) But anyway, if your threads are closed, then they're closed for valid reasons depicted at the Code of Conduct. We play by the rules here. If you have a problem with the moderators and want to resolve it, create a thread at Resolution Center.

If that is true then I suspect you are the problem.

I've never even been to AskUbuntu. And my experience with Xubuntu on this old hand-me-down Dell has been so trouble-free that I haven't had to deal with any big issues, so I haven't really learned how to help others much.

The one who introduced me to Linux/Ubuntu sent me here rather than to the other forum, maybe because AU is "all business, strictly business" and UF has a Cafe and Games and stuff like that.

Do you need separate log-in credentials from the forum to use Ask Ubu..?

I tried Asking Ubu but was unable to proceed for some reason.

I've been here on and off for years and I have never had a thread closed.

Difference between this site and Ask Ubuntu? I'm a member of this site, and I'd never even heard of Ask Ubuntu before I saw this thread! :)

But now I have been made aware of its existence, I will go check it out. Who knows, maybe it's better than this site, I'll be wooed away, I'll never come back here and it'll be the OP's fault!

Heh, just so you know who to blame when I'm gone and there's an emptiness in your heart! :lolflag:
