Hello,
Yesterday, while purchasing parts for a PC at work, I noticed a Zotac mini PC, that said "XMBC, Linux". I wiggled the mouse, and to my surprise, was greeted with a full install of Ubuntu 12.04! With a few clicks, I had the movie player showing a video from the "Example" directory. I figured it was the least I could do, since Win 8 PC's were surrounding it, showing their slideshows....

I must wander over to my local Fry's and take a picture of it with my Android phone.
Post a picture, or it didn't happen.
Are you sure it wasn't running Linspire with a facelift to look like Ubuntu?
A search online shows that linux does not exist:

Found it. It's running XMBC not XBMC: Of course, no description of the software.

The Fry's close to me sometimes has non-standard builds for sale. Sometimes they have one on display. I have never asked but suspect that someone bought the computer, customized it with RAM, GPU video card, gaming keyboard, etc., and then couldn't pay the loan. They are often at a very good price. I suspect that is because they are used and the lack of a warranty. Most of the ones I have seen are built for gaming.
What bertmanphx saw could have been something of that nature.

They do sell what they take back, so its possibly a return that was loaded with 12.04. I've bought tons of returned items at frys.
