Im considering purchasing a:
Samsung Chromebook (Wi-Fi, 11.6-Inch)

but want to get rid of the Google Chrome OS and replace it with Ubuntu 12. As the Chromebook has no CD/DVD drive but has 2 USB Ports: 1 USB 3.0 + 1 USB 2.0, is there a way to wipe the Google Chrome OS off the main drive and then REPLACE it with Ubuntu 12 using a USB flash drive?

If so, how would I install Ubuntu from the flash drive?

Thanks experts!</SPAN>

That would be highly impractical because Chromebooks come with a very small, if any physical storage. One option is to install Puppy Linux because is installs directly to the RAM. I'm not totally sure if it will work but if it does, you will need either an external HDD, other physical external storage, or cloud based storage. If you need any more help feel free to ask.

I was playing with Chromium OS a couple of years ago and found that I could access Synaptic.
First thing I did was replace the Chrome browser with Firefox.
I did not have as much luck installing the Ubuntu desktop.

I am not sure what can be done with the current Chromium OS.
