how to install .tar.bz2 file

i have downloaded mozila firefox and it is in zip format. it has extention as ".tar.bz2" please help me in installing this file..:(

sudo apt-get install firefox

for the latest beta, install that ppa & update before installing:

https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/firefox-next

note: tar* is a compressed format, google around "ubuntu tar" for more info
