How is Carbon Dioxide Rogers any worse than Moon Unit Zappa?

I find it difficult to imagine, for example, Shiloh Pitt suffering any harm because of the name his parents gave him

Basically if your parents are rich/famous it's okay. You won't get teased because everyone would want to be friends with the child who has rich/famous parents.

Aside from this article, Ms Rogers is neither, ergo her child would be teased.

- Hi boy, what's you name?
- Carbon Dioxide Rogers
- Wow, what kind of weird parents have you got?
- Hi girl, what's you name?
- Moon Unit Zappa
- Wow, what kind of weird... aw, yes.

What a world we live in, to be made fun of more for having a unique name, than for having a generic name; and then going back and being bias of the unique name, based on the social position of the child. :-?

Still, if I were going to be called by my first name, I think Carbon is a lot nicer sounding than Moon. :)

It's becoming rarer to find kids without rare names, anymore.

I think the psychologists made a bad judgement - I doubt people would tease the kid. I mean, it's a really cool name, what's there to tease about?

- Haha, you have the same name as a molecule, and you suck!

I think either people will like it, or they won't give a **** about it. But who knows.

The woman seriously can't see what's wrong with the name "Shiloh Pitt"? Seriously? Was the woman dropped on her head as a baby?

"Researchers report that carbon dioxide is causing the polar ice caps to melt, which in turn has caused the salt contamination of the water supply on the island of Tokolau."

Next day, the kids beat up poor little Carbon Dioxide Rogers. Not necessarily because the news said he caused the Tokolauans great hardship, but because he's got a dumb name.

To name your child after a gas that's getting so much negative attention at the moment, is breathtakingly short-sighted and naive.

Exactly. Without carbon dioxide, the plants won't grow. And if the plants don't grow, we all die. ;)

OMG, I hope the court overrules that crazy name for that poor child.

Here were I live in this interesting part of the united states. We constantly see "unique" names from our ethnic cousins. Like Semaj, which is James spelt backwards, or even as bad as one poor fools name that was "Grapejello", pronounced (Raph - e - low). No I am not making this up....

It's still better and more original than naming your son "Adolf Hitler" , like a lot of fathers seem to do around the globe every year.

Some ppl shouldn't have kids period.
