Somehow I expected you'd be here. :D

Nice job slimdog. Does the Mac OS X taskbar look like that?
EDIT: All that's missing is a window decoration to match. :D

One thing about the Mac that really makes me wonder is the docker (whatever you call that panel at the bottom). I'm just really puzzled with all the interest that it's getting. Don't get me wrong, I'm an eye-candy freak (most of the time), but this is just one eye-candy-ish feature I can't seem to fathom...

Good looking theme..

I do have a question..

How, on earth, do you all find a way to get a separate bar for JUST icons and make it centered and sized how you want it? I know how to do it in KDE, I just can't get it right in GNOME..

Either way, Great job with the theme.

Ive only used a Mac once or twice and that was years ago so I just went off some pics on the web.

.

right click on a panel -->properties-->uncheck expand.
then you up the size a bit (still in properties).
From there its just a matter of adding the icons you want.
Personally I deleted the old bottom panel and started from scratch.

Is that GNOME? or KDE? Because AFAIK, you can't have a Mac OS-like menu bar (the one on top) in GNOME.

But it's very, very nice. Almost impossibe to distinguish. Except for the Apple icon?

EDIT: That has got to be KDE. Again, AFAIK, there's no digital Clock panel applet in GNOME. Unless it's a separately installed plugin?

Looks nice. To be honest while using Microsoft Windows (in the past), Linux or Mac OS X I never feel the urge to make it look like an other OS.

I agree.I feel that if you want a Mac, get a Mac. Or Windows. Ubuntu/Kubuntu is different and we should appreciate its uniqueness.

I completely disagree.

Sometimes people want the look of the Mac but not the behavior or price of a Mac.

It's perfectly legitimate to play around with Mac themes.

yup. other than the look, i'm not really attracted to macs. this way, i can get the look (which i usually get sick of) without getting the machine.

I have to admit, every time I use my wife's Powerbook I'm at once wowed by the slick good looks as I am repulsed by the user interface.

A few things that bother me about the Mac behavior:

1. When I Cmd-Tab to a minimized application, the application's windows do not get brought forward--they stay minimized. And there are a lot of applications for which there are no keyboard shortcuts to bring them forward once you're focused on the application.

2. F11 is a handy way to show the desktop, but it's too easy to click on the wrong part of the desktop and have all the windows pop right back over your mouse cursor.

3. The inability to maximize applications. Sometimes that + button's behavior makes no sense, especially when I'm looking at files and folders in that multiple-column view.

4. It's too easy to accidentally drag and drop an icon off the dock (thus removing it) when trying to simply move the icon to another position on the dock.

5. Keyboard shortcuts aren't easy to assign for launching applications.

I think I'll just leave it at five.

If you can tell me theming Gnome or KDE to look like Mac also enables those five annoying behaviors, then, yes, I will just get a Mac instead.

I go for my own look, I like to keep people guessing as to what desk top i'm actually using, in this case i'm working on my dapper-server install + Fluxbox build up. My pic->
