View Full Version : Ubuntu Flash Drive Boot

I'm pretty sure that it's possible, I read it somewhere before but I can't find where. I want to install Ubuntu onto a flash drive, not as a live CD kind of thing but my account and stuff on the Flash drive. Just as back up in case I ever need it, I'd rather have that over a Live CD. SO how exactly do I do that?

Bit confused but do you mean you want a persistent install on a USB dongle, like Ubuntu installed on a hard drive, that you can plug into any machine and use? You can save things to it and install applications, drivers, etc (which you can't do from a LiveCD/USB)?
