472 Updates Will NOT post to new 12.04 install

Why do 472 available updates with check marks not kick in and begin to update. In 40 minutes a ubuntu 12.04 just installed on my ASUS P5GC-MX PC just sits and Churns.

When will this cow give milk? Hmmm, looks like I have egg on my face. Just checked at 53 minutes along and apparently all 472 updates have run and it is time to restart.

This all opened my eyes as this was my first time to dual boot, doing an XP install ahead of Ubuuntu 12.04 Dual boot. Yeah, I cannot claim anything affected the updating process.

yes, my two PCs & laptop work fine except libre office Dell laser 1700 & HP 4000 Laser printers foul up. I believe libre office 3.4 has an error I cannot find. :lolflag:

Try it in terminal, see what happens.
