Well, xmas eve has been rubbish so far. Hopefully things will brighten up tomorrow ...

This is not my favourite time of year, though, so not helping ... ;)

Having said that, have a great day all.

It's a hot day where I am, at least 25°C (77°F), and no signs of cooling down yet. The Pohutukawa trees (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metrosideros_excelsa), in a sense like our version of Christmas trees, are in bloom.

Yep, 26 C here and same tomorrow then 29 C on Boxing Day. I'll be going down the beach for a swim Boxing Day which may seem somewhat odd to users in the other hemisphere!

oh what joy a movie about a guy who suffers from depression, talks to himself and sees invisible friends which results in a psychotic break and the moral of the story being that life keeps kicking you even when you are down and that you should abandon all hope for your dreams and accept your lot ! LOL

it should be called "Thats life"

indeed, happy chrismas, seasons greetings and happy new year to everyone.

As per most of the year, we're having periodic drizzle and the temp is mild-ish. Probably the same wet as MG&TL.

:popcorn:A poem/song by JETHRO TULL

"Jack Frost And The Hooded Crow"

Through long December nights we talk in words of rain or snow,
while you, through chattering teeth, reply and curse us as you go.
Why not spare a thought this day for those who have no flame
to warm their bones at Christmas time?
Say Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow.

Now as the last broad oak leaf falls, we beg: consider this:
there's some who have no coin to save for turkey, wine or gifts.
No children's laughter round the fire, no family left to know.
So lend a warm and a helping hand:
say Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow.
As holly pricks and ivy clings, your fate is none too clear.
The Lord may find you wanting, let your good fortune disappear.
All homely comforts blown away and all that's left to show
is to share your joy at Christmas time
with Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow.

Through long December nights we talk in words of rain or snow,
while you, through chattering teeth, reply and curse us as you go.
Why not spare a thought this day for those who have no flame
to warm their bones at Christmas time?
Say Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow.

To think I was about to start a similar thread yesterday. :P Anyway, you guys in the southern hemisphere are lucky, because for once in my life, I actually wanted a warm and balmy Christmas! =P Down here in the South, we know neither extreme in weather during this time of year, so it's rather chilly and boring, with no snow or a need for sandals. XD

Ah well, at least this year I got to make Christmas cards for some of my friends and plan on buying Minecraft for my little cousin's shiny new mini tablet, so it's a great year for giving to me, even if I had to make most of my gifts in the form of digitally drawn Christmas cards. XD

Merry Christmas to all you great guys and gals on the forums! Hope you have a great season whether you celebrate the winter with a Christmas tree or a set of candles, or none of that at all. :P

EDIT : Gremlinzzz totally ninja'd me, but that's a great poem I've never heard before; it really makes you think.

:popcorn:Much like "A Christmas Song," "Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow" reminds the listener to be charitible and compassionate at Christmas, lest the fates take away what the listener has.

Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow are symbols of cold and death, respectively.

May we always aim high and strive to be worthy of each other throughout the coming year.

@ Gremlinzzz: Yep, just about to put that album on! We have a few lined up, including the 'South Park Christmas Album' and 'Now That's What I Call a Country Christmas', not to forget the Manhattan Transfer xmas album ... 11:00AM xmas morning here ...

There is also beer, daiquaris, and deep fried seafood to consume later in the day so Bucky should perhaps avoid the forums later in the day for fear of making a xmas cracker of Bucky.

All the best everyone. Things are looking up ...
