View Full Version : [ubuntu] HP Clickpad - Disable Movement in Soft Button Area?

Hello All,

I am using an HP DM1Z with Ubuntu 12.10. The clickpad works fine, but I would like to disable movement in the soft button area (lower left and right).

Is there a way to allow the soft buttons to work while avoiding cursor movement in the same region? The Windows 7 drivers that came installed with the system allow me to map the lower area of the clickpad to function as just left/right buttons.

Thanks,

Steve

I would like the clickpad to function like a trackpad, so I can hold down the left soft button with one finger and move the window using another finger in the upper region.

As configured, the soft button area also allows cursor movement, which means windows jump around when I have a soft button pressed unless I keep my finger very steady. I want to soft button area to act like physical buttons.
