I have searched but found no answer! Is there a solution?
If not,can I first download the 64bit kernel and replace the 32bit kernel.
If this works, what should I do?

You'll need to reinstall to accomplish this.

Are you having a specific problem with 32-bit?

You'll need to reinstall. Grab the 64bit ISO from the ubuntu website and install that.
No way of directly upgrading from 32bit to 64bit.

If you can wait, when the next update comes out, get a cd to install instead of an upgrade, thats what I did for 12.04 to 12.10 64-bit.Just back up your stuff and reinstall. :/

There probably is a way to upgrade 32 to 64, but it would manually changing code, which would take 100 times more time to do.

I moved my home folder to a new partition
I created a new 20gb partition for the OS
And installed 64 bit OS
During install I told it to use the other partition to mount home.
Keeping home separate from the OS I think can make it easier to make future changes.
