This sounds pretty interesting, honestly. I'd love to be able to perform flatulence into a smelling device just to watch the levels spike on the screen! So if anyone tries to remotely keep tabs on the smells of my environment, they're going to get a lot of false readings. > : D Let's hope there isn't a "speaker" for reproducing smells to go with that. =P

Something like this will still be a great invention, though. It'd be perfect for catching mold or carbon monoxide in the house well before our noses can pick up on it, and the same for farms as mentioned in the article.

Nice. XD I'd love it if my Linux experience smelled like mint, hmmm. :3 Where are those scented candles, I need something pleasant to the senses in this room full of farts and manly deodorant doing its thing. =P

Also, kinda funny how your alias is a dead flower. XD Didn't knock down a few roses yourself did you? > : D

... and sell that information to your insurance company so that they can raise your rates or deny you insurance because some propriety software has detected that you are sick.

... and if you try to remove or disable said software it would be against the law because you have to break some DRM in order to remove or disable the software.

Can they make "smell cancelling" technology for when you are sitting next to the "stale onion soup and old beer" guy on the subway?

Could have fun, keep a bowl of Hard boiled eggs, Garlic, ammonia, used Nappy by the computer. The CPU will have an emotional breakdown.

My wife has a sound sample from The Holy Grail as her ringtone when I call.

John Cleese as the French soldier: "I fart in your general direction!"

Just think -- she could have that AND an accompanying aroma.

IBM have always been a little strange

Uninteresting fact, which I am sure ive bored someone with on here before ;-)

IBM is one letter removed in Alphabet from HAL (IBM's machine in Space Odyysey)

WNT (windows NT) is one letter removed from VMS (as in DEC) thanks to Dave Cutler who worked on the design of VMS and then went to MS to work on WNT

I love useless factoids ;-)

How about a Stinky cake song.

Lyrics: We're going to make a stinky cake
We're going to make a stinky cake
We're going to make a stinky cake
We're going to bake it all night long.
v.2 What' cha gonna put in the stinky cake?
v.3 dirty socks
v.4 moldy fish
v.5 baby diapers
v.6 YOU CHOOSE SOMETHING REALLY SMELLY
