Hi,
Mission is to
There are lot of examples on youtube but are using wifi mostly.
Would you know how to wol a lamp to turn it on/off on a 110/220v plug?
Which device could be used?

Arduino and/or X10 would be my guess...

I havent Android. I am using ubuntu.

IIRC, not all the projects use Android. <shrug>
Might also check arduino.cc for a ton of Arduino related stuff - forums, tutorials, etc.
