Hi, I am attempting to install the x86-64 version of Ubuntu 12.10 on my desktop, but approximately 3/4 of the way through the install, it hangs and my display becomes corrupted. I have left it alone for 2 additional hours just to make sure that it isn't continuing installing in the background, and I have tried with the grab updates/3rd party toggles on and off. When I first boot up, everything works perfectly from the liveCD until I try to run the installer.

From searching the forums I see lots of possible solutions for similar problems AFTER the install, but I can't seem to get the installer to work.

Edit: Forgot to mention I have already tried with nomodeset as well

Only found fix was to just use 12.04.
