Hello and Welcome

That version of Python is in the repository in 12.10 and already installed . If you are using unity the there should two python icons in dash if sucessfully installed . The default version will open in the terminal by typing the name.
python
You could also try typing
python-3.2.3 If that fails use the icon.

If the synaptic package manager is installed you can check the installation or install the package if included in the repository for your Ubuntu version.
