I logged on today and got a popup asking to upgrade to the new version. I allowed it. When it was done I had a 12 year olds safety tablet. It was poorly designed, limited and the UI was 10x slower than GNOME.

I tried to install Gnome through software distribution, but im not a linux guy, it just work right "out of the box" before. Now it just sucks!

Can someone tell me an EASY way to dump this UNITY crap and have the new 12.04.1 ubuntu with the good GNOME UI.

If this cant be done (or done easily) ima bail on ubuntu and go back to windows...

You need to install gnome-shell. Then after the install log out and select gnome in the drop box.

@williewiskers, if you need help installing an alternative desktop environment or classic gnome, please start a new thread, but this time without the trolling.
