Add more thernet port using USB bridge

Hi,

I like to add 4 more ethernet ports to my HP Pavilion DV4, anyone knows if I can add external USB 4 port bridge than use USB-ethernet adapter for this purpose? Will linux automatically detect the ethernet port & configure them as eth1-4.
