Book, Movie, and Game: 1 Recommendation Each

I'm looking for overlooked entertainment, and I want your help.

Name me one book, movie, and game that I cannot find on the front page of Amazon or another retailer. I'm looking for something that I'd have to search for a while to find -- a hidden gem.

I'll do the same for you:

Book: Counting from Zero by Alan B. Johnston
Movie: The Life of David Gale
Game: Armada (Dreamcast)

I do have a particular taste, but I'm hoping to get enough responses to this thread that I'll find something.

Book: The Brothers Karamazov. by Dostoevsky (recently finished it in ebook form)
Movie: Bell Book and Candle (its just one of my favorite movies ever)

Book: An introduction to Language. Linguist major or not, it's a really good read.

Film: Coraline. Excellent, but fairly unknown.

Game: Zillions of Games. A Windows-only game, but it runs perfectly on Wine. It's a general game playing engine that can play almost any board games, as long as you can write a rule for it. A Linux port/alternative is something I would DIE for.

Book: Somme Mud by E.P.F Lynch. It's a young man's true account of his time on the Western Front in the Great War. A gripping read.

Film: The Dish. Comedy about the people working at one of the radio telescopes that relayed the television pictures from Apollo 11.

Game: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Okay, it's not a "hidden gem" but it didn't get nearly enough press when it was released last year. Yes, it's a Wii game and yes it has motion controls; but it's an immersive adventure with great swordfighting and puzzling. The control scheme is excellent. The music is memorable and there's so much to see and do.

Book: The Mark of the Warrior, by Paul Scott

Film: The Quiet Man. Perhaps a bit twee, but John Wayne enjoying himself in Ireland

Game: Escape from Colditz. My brother and I used to have hours of fun playing this board game: everyone used to gang up on the German Officer!

Movie: 13 Assassins

Game: Medal of Honor ( any of them ), Morrowwind

Book: 100 Years of Solitude, Gabriel Garcia Marquez

I agree, it's one of the best novels I've read.

My suggestions:

Book: Either "100 Years of Solitude", or "Hopscotch", by Julio Cortázar.
Film: The Bothersome Man.
Game: Any of the Thief series (the latest was released in 2004, but still it's a great game).

Book : Forever War. The authors last name if Haldeman if I remember right. It's an excellent "military scifi" novel that doesn't glorify things, and it'll make you think for a little.

Movie: Godzilla Final Wars. Pretty much the cheesy monster movie to end all cheesy monster movies. Great fun with kids too.

Game: Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. "Hardcore" rogue-like gaming without the obtuse interface issues of something like Angband (which I also love)

Book - Thinking Strategically: The Competitive Edge in Business, Politics, and Everyday Life, Dixit and Nalebuff. (A very easy to read introduction to game theory.)

Movie - Indie Game: The Movie (An interesting look behind the scenes at the lives of indie game developers)

Game: Waking Mars (this was in one of the recent humble bundles. You grow ecosystems. Very addictive)

Book: Lord of Light, by Roger Zelazny - sci fi meets Hindu mythology.

Film: Tampopo - 70s Japanese film about food and romance.

Game: Download a Sega Megadrive emulator and get stuck into Shining Force I and II - cool fantasy/strategy games with cool music. (If you want something more contemporary, I also love Civ4 (with the Better BUG AI mod), Neverwinter Nights (play online on a persistent world server) or Battle for Wesnoth).

Book: Fifth Business (http://www.amazon.com/Business-Penguin-Classics-Robertson-Davies/dp/0141186151) by Robertson Davies; the rest of his Deptford trilogy is also worth reading.

Movie: The Blues Brothers (http://www.amazon.com/Blues-Brothers-Widescreen-Anniversary-Edition/dp/B0009UC810). Not only is it hilariously funny, but it is one of the best movie musicals ever made. It is also the source of many famous lines like "We're on a mission from God!" A few great cameo appearances as well like Carrie Fisher, fresh from her work as Princess Leia, as a psychotic jilted lover.

Game: Shadow Hearts: Covenant (http://www.amazon.com/Shadow-Hearts-Covenant-Playstation-2/dp/B00029QQNY/) for the PS/2. Set during World War I with a variety of over-the-top characters and a compelling story. It makes references to a few events in the first SH game, but I played them out-of-order, and it didn't matter.

I know quite a few people who have never played it nor know why it is so highly praised (mostly the newer generation). I personally still play it every now and then....

It's like alot of novels by authors such as Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Victor Hugo, etc... Many people have never read them preferring instead some more recent pop-fiction.
