View Full Version : [ubuntu] Boot problem

i have installed ubuntu 12.04 and when i have finished the installation process i rebooted then i find ubuntu in the boot options in the startup menu ..then i deleted 12.04 cause i need an old version of ubuntu and installed ubuntu 8.04 but i cant find it in the boot options in the startup ..any one can help me plz ??

8.04 is not supported any more. Why do you need to use a version that is so old?

Thank you for the quick reply ..

As i need to download and old version of NS2 simulator ..and when i downloaded it on ubuntu 12.04 some problem occurs ..
do you have any suggestions ?

No. They should really make a more recent version that supports newer OSs. 8.04 is many years old.

One option might be the 10.04 version which is supported until April 2013 (but that is 4 months from now too), and see if that software runs on it.

Another option might be to get the source files and compile the software yourself on the latest 12.04 LTS version, instead of trying to install from the repositories when there is no new version.
