I would love to be able to add "recently used" to my panel, gut I can't figure out where to find it. It shows up when I go to save a file or image, but if I open window manager, it's not there. Is there a way to have "recently used" available? I appear to need it more often than I care to admit.

Try adding the "Places" plugin to your panel. It displays the list of Recently Used files.

Toz, thank you. That did it.

I was puzzled at first, because I had another folder with the same icon as offered for "places", but labeled "file manager" i.e. my home folder. Places is added now and icons straightened out too. :)

i'm not sure what a 'panel' is or what the 'Places' plug-in is or where i'd find it. in short tho, i'd like for 'recently used' to show up as an option in Nautilus. are we talking about the same thing? if so, i'd appreciate a more explicit how-to.

Sorry, this thread was about Xfce, Xfce Panel and the places plugin. I'm not sure about nautilus.
