Nope.

Unless you are talking about this: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Lycius/quake-1

It's possible, but I am not sure that framework it uses.

There is Quake Live. http://www.quakelive.com/#!home It needs a plugin first, but it does run straight from Firefox after you install it, and it's free. It's pretty fun too, wroth checking out :)

There is Quake Live which runs through your browser, and for the most part, it's free. I have the original Quake III disc and run it as a mod under OpenArena on Linux, so I haven't gotten around to checking it out myself.

Although I heard there's no support for custom content and you need to pay to host servers, ouch.

EDIT : Whoa, doorknob60 ninja'd me on that one. =P

I have the Original game, installed Quake III Arena native in Ubuntu 12.04 amd64, seems perfect, i can play online, download content, it all works. I don't really like OpenArena... can't put my finger on it....

Is Quake Live really all that different from Quake III Arena??? I tried it once a long time ago, didn't work out.. However videos on the youtube seem to suggest it isn't much different.

It's based on the same engine, so gameplay and maps should be very similar (if not the same). The biggest draw is the official servers, matchmaking, and other more modern social type features, and ease of use. It works well if you just wanna hop online and frag some people :)
