Hey all,

Looking for any kind of help trying to identify reason for random system freezes. They happen totally out of the blue. Sometimes just listening to music, sometimes doing CPU intensive task. Once system is frozen sound loops and system is totally non responsive. The only way to use system is to restart laptop by pressing power button for several secs.

Log files are completely empty regarding freezes. I would rule out overheating because sometimes it happen 2 minutes after booting and sometimes after 2 days of uptime. This is also not affected by power adapter being plugged in or not.

Is there anything to try and diagnose these kind of crashes?

I'm using Lenovo T430s laptop with Intel 530 SSD and running Ubuntu 12.04.

When the system "freezes" is it possible to access a TTY(Ctr+Alt+F1)? If not does the emergency reboot work? To initiate emergency reboot type(without quotes) "reiusb" while holding Alt+SysRq.
