How can I get Mathematica to use my preinstalled CUDA SDK?

I have gotten it to use my NVIDIA driver.

CUDADriverVersion[]
310.19.Revision Number

However whenever I want to execute anything related to CUDALink I get "loading from Wolfram Research server".

It takes so long and I am afraid it is downloading another driver. I'm on an optimus machine and the setup is very fragile. I don't want to download anything else.

I have also created a symbolic link to my CUDA_5.0 SDK at:

~.Mathematica/Paclets/Repository/CUDAResources-Lin64-8.0.4.0/CUDAToolkit/
