Twice, a few days ago, I posted the fact that in installing UBUNTU, half my WINDOWS programs got clobbered - they were on my D: partition, which UBUNTU chose to use to install itself - AFTER my programs, but it clobbered the directory.

I fixed my problem because I had the whole drive backed up.

My QUESTION is:- what happened to my POSTS???

If I violated guidelines by mentioning how my WINDOWS programs got clobbered, WHY WON'T SOMEONE TELL ME, instead of just removing the post??

This is supposed to be a forum for bringing up issues, and UBUNTU is supposed to be able to be installed alongside WINDOWS if the user so wishes????

Thanks for "listening." Bob T.

Let's see - never replied on that thread?

turnbub (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=1759764): There are several possibilities why this may have happened, but at this time that is moot. If you still want to dual-boot ubuntu and windows, please provide the following information and perhaps we can help you:

- a list of the physical drives on your PC

- a list of the partitions and their type on each of the drives

- what version of Windows and which version of Ubuntu

- where you want to install ubuntu
