Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit and ninja

Does ninja work on Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit? I followed Bodhi Zazen's guide to install and setup ninja exactly down to copying the specific GUID properly and putting it into my ninja configuration file. When I reboot my System76 PC, I get locked out of my administrator account.

Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to install and setup ninja safely so that I don't get locked out of my administrator account before I proceed? I am using Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit and this happened to me when I was using Beta 2 release. I don't know if this is fixed in the shipping version that I have now so please tell me if it works for you and how you got it to work step by step.

no idea if still works on 12.10, i know its last update was 2009

edit: though there is a package for it so i suppose it does https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/quantal/i386/ninja/0.1.3-2 (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/quantal/i386/ninja/0.1.3-2)

Though this is i386, i couldnt find a x64 package, oh tell a lie there is a x64 package. So i guess my post has been useless as i have no experience of it in 12.10 ;-)
