View Full Version : [ubuntu] trouble switching desktop environments

I currently run ubuntu 12.10 with unity and recently decided to try out different desktop environments and installed lubuntu. Everything at this point worked fine. I could switch environments at the login screen with no problem.

To further experiment with new interfaces, I installed xubuntu. Installation went fine but I can't switch gui's anymore. From the login screen, I can still click the drop menu to select the different environments. But clicking on lubuntu or xubuntu doesn't do anything. I'm essentially 'stuck' with unity for some reason. There is no "OK" button like i've seen before, just the list of environments.

Is there something obvious I'm missing here? Thanks ahead of time for any help.

I fixed the problem. I have to click on the environment you want to load then hold TAB and press ENTER.

Sorry for wasting a thread. There just wasn't any information I could find anywhere else. Just took some trial and error.
