In Xubuntu 12.10's Main Menu editor (alacarte 3.5.5-0ubuntu1.1) I don't get any drag and drop, and thus cannot move or copy menu items with the mouse.
Isn't this supposed to work?

Thanks
Mike

I don't think so.
It seems the main menu is sorted alphabetically, and the submenus have Move Up/Down buttons.

Where are you trying to drag them to?

I'm trying to drag to a different submenu (move up/down buttons don't help with that).

If this is the problem I think it is, it's a known bug in 4.10. I've seen it discussed but can't (as usual) find any of those discussions now that I'm Googling. There are a couple other menu editors you can try, but I'm also having trouble finding those! :???: If I get more info, I'll add it here.

Ah... here's (http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=110&t=113389) a discussion of "Main Menu" alternatives.

I checked the Main Menu editor on an older machine running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
Drag and drop of menu items works in this version.
It's alacarte-0.13.1-0ubuntu1 and it's running under Gnome 2.
