Hello,

I think, I have a problem:

A fatal error occurred

Please report this as a bug and include the files
/var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log and /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log in
your report. The upgrade has aborted.
Your original sources.list was saved in
/etc/apt/sources.list.distUpgrade.

SystemError: E:Internal Error, No file name for libc6

Could not install the upgrades

The upgrade has aborted. Your system could be in an unusable state. A
recovery will run now (dpkg --configure -a).

Please report this bug in a browser at
http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+filebug and
attach the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ to the bug report.

Upgrade complete

The upgrade has completed but there were errors during the upgrade
process.
I have no clue how to fix this :-(

Is it realistic to fix this, or should I rather install a fresh 12.04?

Greetings,
Hendrik

try this in your terminal

sudo -i
dpkg -r libc6:i386
dpkg -r libgcc1:i386
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -f

then try again

Hi Raja,

thanks for your hint. I tried it immediatly. Your commands ran sucessfully, but the result was the same:

Checking for a new ubuntu release
Done Upgrade tool signature
Done Upgrade tool
Done downloading
authenticate 'precise.tar.gz' against 'precise.tar.gz.gpg'
extracting 'precise.tar.gz'
