Hi,
I am about to upgrade from Hardy Heron to Precise Pangolin.
I will do it via a full install from scratch.
However I do still wish to have emails and settings from the previous installation available. I have read about saving the .mozilla folder I also have a .mozilla-thunderbird folder. Last time i tried this, some years ago, I ended up with a back up that thunderbird would not use or mount. How do i get thunderbird to adopt the old emails and settings?

Saving the .thunderbird works only if everything is identical. That would include Tbird version and add-ons. It is important to replace the folder prior to opening Tbird on the new installation.

Under Edit > Account Settings Sever Settings it is possible to get the information for each account and it is possible to browse the path to the profile folder which may be important if trying to import.
