No horizontal scrolling with awesome WM

Hi there,

I am using the awesome WM with Ubuntu 12.04 on a MacBook Pro.
However, I can't seem to scroll horizontally although it is activated in the System Settings.

Does anyone know how to get that working?

EDIT: Solved it: starting "gnome-settings-daemon" made horizontal scrolling work
