Hi guys

I bought a DVD recently and it is "choppy" for about 5 minutes during the middle of the movie, which spoils it for me.

I got it used off of Amazon - it didn't cost much so it's not really worth my time and effort sending it back.

My question - is it legal for me to download a torrent of the movie, as I own the original?

If not I'll order another one, as it was only a couple quid (a few US dollars.)

(I'm in the UK.)

Thanks.

Nope, fraid not.

Your legal recourse is to take it up with the person who sold it to you. If they didn't mention that it was a bit dodgey you're entitled to get a refund (you might want to check the T&Cs on Amazon, but they should affect your statutory rights).

If you're seeking legal advice, contact an attorney (lawyer, solicitor, etc). It's beyond the scope of this forum to provide such advice.
