View Full Version : [ubuntu] Live CD crashes to ash with mount error

I have been running 10.04 LTS for a long time without any severe problems.

Before I installed it, I booted from a live CD (which I've misplaced) and checked it out. Live CD worked fine and so did the installation.

I want to adjust a partition to add another OS so I downloaded a fresh copy of 10.04 iso and burned to CD.

I had some difficulty getting going as I wasn't aware it had changed a bit.
With a bit of Googling I was able to get to the language selection menu, and then the menu with "Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer" came up.

I hit enter and the system crashed to ash (shell) with a mount error.
(mount error seemed to indicate it was trying to mount to itself)

Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Roy.
