system program problem detected

after updating the other day, today my laptop is experiencing a problem it says "system program problem detected", and it kept on freezing after that, now computer is working but the display resolution is 800x600, i dont know the reason, what should i do? thank you

Hey!
Did you try installing the correct drivers through Settings>Drivers?
What version of Ubuntu did you upgrade to? 12.10?
What are your graphics cards?
When the error shows up, is there a "Report bug" button?
Did you try going in a terminal with CTRL-ALT-F1?
If you do manage to open terminal this way, you could report the bug through the "ubuntu-bug" command and install if necessary drivers.
