Hello I recently installed ubuntu 12.10. The fan is running constantly.
A lot of threads I've read suggest a common cause of this is the graphics driver but most refer to specific graphics card.
I think mine is on board (if that's the correct term).
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)
OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ivybridge Mobile x86/MMX/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.0
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30
Is there a possibility to install drivers other than the default version for my machine? How would one go about upgrading if there is?
Thanks for any help in advance,
Slip
