If your BIOS is configured to start from hdd, you need to tell it to start from DVD instead by either changing the boot order in BIOS or pressing a special key (vendor specific) to get to a temporary boot menu.

computer says it can not start Windows

Has this anything to do with Ubuntu installation? Was it able to start from Windows before?
