ubuntu 11.10 and printer hp photosmart 5510 b111a

i have just installed 11.10 and it doesn't find my printer when i try to go through hp setup. please help!!

Did you try simply opening Printers and selecting Add Printer?

See if it's in the list of known printers, or if it can detect it and download drivers automatically.

For my Epson I simply started with Add Printer, never bothered with anything else.

What version of hplip do you have installed?

I believe that the default hplip version in 11.10 (hplip 3.11.7) is too old for that printer, which looks as if it needs hplip 3.11.10 or later.
