My laptop won't install Ubuntu 12.10 because of the PAE extension not present and the kernel for 12.10 requiring it.
Is there a way I can take my 12.04 (non-PAE kernel) installation and tell it to upgrade everything EXCEPT the kernel?
I'm just wondering if this is a way around the issue. The alternate.iso (tried it) and supposedly Ubuntu alternatives (Xubuntu and Lubuntu) are likewise moving to the PAE kernel.
