Love Steam... works like a dream :)

PS - This is off course in Windows as more than 60 000 people applied for the beta on Linux (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/11/steam-for-linux-launches)so chances of getting in are slim

Why don't they just let everyone in? It would probably be better to have a public beta.

Way to early for that... it will come eventually.

Segfaulty. :)

FYI, you can download the beta package from their CDN if you know where to look. There is a "beta checker" after signing in that will kick you out shortly if you're not in it, however.

FTR - If you did get access you can check out and participate in this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2081405)... hopefully we can build a nice toolbox of tips, tricks and troubleshooting.

I have it and I'm not in the beta. I have this annoying little warning plastered in the middle of my screen, but Killing Floor is downloading right now, and I can still use Big Picture mode. You can get around the Beta check thing by just launching steam from the terminal.

Well, Killing Floor downloaded, but it wouldn't launch. It kept saying the executable was missing, so I checked ~/.steam and found the Killing Floor directory and yep all the necessary files are there...except for the binary executable to launch the game.

Well installed the client, works like a charm... Even the new "big picture" mode worked and is looking good.

Big Picture was a little slow for me (compared to Windows performance), even with the NVIDIA 310 driver. But hey, it's a start, and it's great to see progress.
