View Full Version : [lubuntu] 12.10 Installation Error: 'Recursive Fault'

Hey Hey, I have an error with installing Lubuntu 12.10. I have an Emac which currently has ubuntu 10.10. Burned the latest Lubuntu on a DVD.

First time trying the installation..... After a few minutes a light blue screen of Lubuntu appears. Text emerges. Goes into code (normal installation process). At the end a line appeared (connected to the mix of code).
It read:
[ 74.174384] fixing recursive fault but reboot needed!

I waited for a bit and nothing happened. So then I force shutdown (prob the worst thing but I didnt know how to reboot any other way).

Since this I've tried twice to once again install but as soon as it gets past the blue screen with Lubuntu 12.10 on it... it goes to that 'recursive fault' thing again. Now that page is all hazy/ faded.

Any help on this would be great appreciated! Thanks! :P

- Did you verify the checksum of the downloaded iso file?
- Maybe a bad burn?
- Can you run the liveCD (no installation) without issues?
- What are your hardware specs?

I tried after booting from C Drive (the installation) both:

Linux snd-powermac.blacklist=yes
snd-powermac.blacklist=yes

Both resulted in saying invalid device. Continued the installation via C Drive. Same problem occurred.
