I have installed 12.10 Gnome Ubuntu 64 bit in my Dell XPS 8500 desktop. Now I have the following queries.

1. How to install the Ambiance theme so that I get upper left window buttons and have similar looks like Ubuntu 12.10. Also I need Ubuntu icon set. The default Gnome icons in this version looks very backdated.

2. How should I install weather applets. I could not find any applet. I need the following applet.

Thanks in advance!

For the desktop customizations you can always try the gnome-tweak tool. IIRC from the last time I used it (which was a while ago), it allows you to change the theme and icons.Regarding a weather applet, maybe you could try a dock (AVN, Cairo) that has something similar to this.

Gnome Tweak did not help for me! Icon set is not changing!

I think this should still be good for 12.10

Are you using this remix:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2073181

If so I think you need these packages:

ubuntu-mono
gnome-icon-theme-full
humanity-icon-theme
light-themes

Unless you're using Compiz you can change window button position following step #6 here:

I'm still figuring some of this out myself so I hope I'm right :)
