I can't change sound balance in kubuntu.

I want to change the balance of sound from centre to left as the right speaker is giving distorted sound, but I can't find any option to do this. Pls help me..

You can use alsamixer on terminal. I think it will do the trick. http://alsa.opensrc.org/Alsamixer

Alsa mixer and gmixer both are not present in kubuntu repository... How to install them?

what version of kubuntu are you using? Alsamixer comes preinstalled I think in pretty much every *buntu version. It's included in the alsa-utils package. I use Kubuntu 12.10 right now, and I can easily use alsamixer from terminal.
