installation help!!!

while trying to install ubuntu 12.10 after i clicked continue on the preparing to install ubuntu page it has the busy mouse sign and has been like this for almost 15 minutes. im not sure whats wrong ive tried like 3 times :confused::confused::confused: btw im new at this forum stuff lol

- Usually, how fast is your internet connection?

Personally, I never choose to download updates during the installation because the installation takes longer.

Totally agree on these points.

pc5885, you can check your network activity light during the install. If that's active, you've found the culprit.

I also once decided to do the download of updates and since that time I pull my network cable out when I do an install.
