View Full Version : [ubuntu] Installation Splash Screen

Hi I am fairly new to ubuntu I did try it before in liveCD and then I install it using WUbi I love it even if I am just a newbie using roughly 20% or what you could really do. well the problem is simple I get the liveCD running I get the first screen with the keyboard logo at the bottom but then the screen go black meanwhile the ubuntu is been installed I did research for 3 days after 9 hours of countinuos search I found nothing and I was thinking maybe its my build not supported by ubuntu drivers?

Specs:
CPU; AMD 4100@3.6
RAM; 8GB DDR3 @1600(corsair vengeance)
MoBo: Asus evo M5A97
GPU; NVIDIA 550ti

Hi and welcome to the forums :-)

It could be a graphics issue you are experiencing.

Try using nomodeset at booting time as outlined here:

That has not happened. Did you click to install Ubuntu? Did you select a location? Did you put in a user name and password? We cannot install Ubuntu until we get past those stages.

No I don't get to the installation option on the contrary the monitor just goes off and do nothing I could.
