My wife and I are about a couple of months away from starting a business. Thank you. We need software like Quickbooks to manage...well...our books/finances/invoicing etc. Trouble is, I am not clear on a good piece of software that will do just that for Linux. Any recommendations?

Any recommendations?you could try the free crossover linux that another person started a thread about and try quickbooks itself.

http://alternativeto.net/ is a good place to look for alternatives to things.

Update: Front Accounting looks like it has what your looking for ( http://frontaccounting.com/wb3/ )

The heading could have used a more detailed description.

Anyway, the thread below covers various finance management software and is fairly recent:

I'd suggest you consult with your accountant, to see what he/she needs to do your year end.

it really depends what exactly you need and how big you need it to get and also what kind of integration it has with online banking..
there is gnucahs, openerp... i am not sure if skrooge has invoicing and such.

there are also some good web based acocunting services. we use one such local service as they provide export files for online banks and digital tax reports... basically everything we need is generated with a click on a button.
