My Cherokee web server was removed during the 12.04 to 12.10 upgrade and apparently not replaced by anything else. This caused me to loose the local LAN based web type data repository that was being served to LAN users by Cherokee. A lot of work had gone into this data collection and I am not happy that it just went "poof!".

Re-installing Cherokee worked, but my stored HTML pages are still gone.
I do have a backup on another server, so maybe this is recoverable. It was just irritating that non-Ubuntu software was removed without even questioning whether I wanted it gone.

Thanks for the Cherokee URL.
