I have a Dell 4600 with 2 GB memory. I've been trying to install Lubuntu on this thing since 11.10 with no luck. I have Ubuntu 10.04, Ubuntu 12.04 and Mint 13 MATE installed so I thought Lubuntu would be no problem.
I tried the live CD for Lubuntu 12.04 but couldn't get it to boot a few months ago. I downloaded the live CD for Lubuntu 12.10 and it booted. It ran great. I was very excited about it. So I tried to install it but no luck, either from inside the running live CD or from the start menu.
I decided to give my old Lubuntu 12.04 CD a try. It ran and installed with no problem ... very smooth in fact. So far it seems to be working very well. Guess one never knows.
