yup, it's finally happening, as Devicescape Open Sourced their Wifi stack for inclusion in the Kernel tree. From other news I've found related to this, it seems that the new stack is being added to an experimental kernel tree.

O - L - D. Just because one company opens their driver, doesn't mean that all chips and cards get supported under Linux, only that we - the customers - will get a broader choice of supported cards.
